Advisory Committee on Quality

Purpose: Re-examine the quality data MRMIB has collected for the past four years and explore other opportunities for quality improvement.

Who is involved: Practicing physicians, participating plan quality representatives, researchers, advocates, and a family representative.

Objectives:

• Consider adoption for new Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) measures, eliminate potentially outdated measures, or continue collecting the current list of measures;
• Determine requirements for participating plans to submit accurate, complete and timely claims and encounter data. Discuss how MRMIB should use the encounter and claims data to promote quality improvement by the plans;
• Discuss what benchmarks and strategies MRMIB should use in setting performance targets (e.g. state, national, Medicaid, SCHIP, etc);
• Indentify the best tools MRMIB should use to assess plans' Cultural and Linguistic (C & L) competency; and
• Determine the quality indicators that MRMIB should publicly report.

Frequency of Meetings: Meetings/conference calls occur bimonthly. They are held the last Thursday of the month from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
